We are excited to gather in 2026, in Denver, the capital and heart of colorful Colorado. Look forward to seeing both new and familiar faces from Friday, July 31 through Sunday, August 2. Come early and stay late if you want to explore the nearby Rocky Mountains, relax in the mineral-rich waters of natural or resort-style hot springs, and so much more!

There are several incredibly scenic towns nearby, like Georgetown, which has a train that runs to Silver Plume and offers a tour of our very own Silver Mines. You can even pan for gold! Try riding the miniature railway at Tiny Town, a miniature village featuring over 100 1/6 scale buildings. Estes Park, just north of Denver, is home to lots of adventures and the Stanley Hotel, which directly inspired the novel and movie The Shining. The Stanley offers a hedge maze, historic tours, and recently added a captivating series of underground magic shows.

To the south, you can explore the Manitou Cliff Dwellings, Garden of the Gods, and the Colorado Renaissance Festival. Visit the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo for unforgettable up-close interactions with hippos, goats, giraffes, and budgies, and ride the Sky Ride up the mountain for panoramic views of Colorado Springs and the Eastern Plains. You do not need to wait for Santa to visit the malls later in the year; you'll find him in his cabin at an attraction-filled workshop at the North Pole in Cascade, Colorado.

So whether you catch a concert at the stunning natural amphitheater, Red Rocks, shop the artisan goods of the outdoor Pearl Street Mall, hike, swim, paddle, or boat on the abundant lakes and natural spaces, or exhilarate your taste buds with the countless craft breweries, wineries, and distilleries grown here, we can't wait to see you! Reunion time is fast approaching! I'm so excited to see new and familiar faces this year, and to share some incredible experiences together. I hope you already have your room reserved at the Magnolia Hotel! It includes a 30$ breakfast voucher for each day you stay.

Things to know about this reunion:

Friday, we're going to be participating in a dinner and mystery theatre, Murder on Pirate Island, where we will sail the High Seas with a band of pirate cutthroats in search of the legendary treasure of La Buse. We'll meet Calico Jack Tremain, who claims he has solved the cryptogram that leads to the treasure. Also on hand are Shanghai Ned Brisco from Tortuga, Frankie Five Angels from the Barbary Coast, and disgraced aristocrat, Taffy Leinenkugel. Don't forget Sadie the washerwoman, she seems innocent enough ... but there are stories about her ... past!

You can dress casual or like a pirate! And there is a cash bar all evening.

Saturday, we'll start the morning with our annual business meeting with the twist of being in a room with an actual bank vault! Then we will head to the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. 4 to 6 million people come every year from all over the world to experience this natural wonder. We'll take a guided coach tour of the park and see one-of-a-kind red rock formations and panoramic views. And stop at the Visitor and Nature Center, where we will have lunch and learn about the unique geology and history of this incredible landmark.

At the Visitor & Nature Center we'll experience a fifteen minute high- definition virtual ride film, named "How Did the Red Rocks Get There?". The theater uses advanced audio-visual technology to create the illusion we're travelling in a time machine that will take us through millions of years of local geology, from magma to dinosaurs.

After we get back to the hotel we'll have time to share a social hour in the detached ballroom just across the street from the hotel before sitting down to a meal together in the same ballroom.

And then the moment we wait all year for, the exciting cousin against cousin bidding wars that is the charity auction. Please bring anything you'd like to donate to the fray, err...I mean cause. I know we have a lot of crafters. I'd love to see if we could come up with some Wolcott themed crafts.

Sunday, we will travel to Denver Botanic Gardens. Wander through the art galleries in the Freyer-Newman Center, step into the Tropical Conservatory, eat lunch sitting next to the water gardens, experience the sensory garden, and take in the mesmerizing twists of the bonsai garden, all at your own pace.

Alas, all good things must come to a "See you next year!". After returning to the Magnolia the official 2026 Wolcott Family Society Reunion will have concluded, but if you're interested in the unofficial recent tradition of the ghost tour please let me know. Transportation isn't provided for unofficial excursions.

If you're coming early or staying late and have some extra time there is a lot more I wish we could do!

Molly Brown house, home of American philanthropist, activist, and socialite Margaret Brown, who survived the sinking of the RMS Titanic and was known as the "Heroine of the Titanic" for her service to survivors. It's a peek into the interesting architecture you'll see in historic Denver. They even have a walking tour around the area where you can get even more insight! There is some fascinating street art all over Denver, but especially in the Santa Fe district where the galleries and museums are.

For very different experiences The Museum of Illusions is right around the corner from our hotel and Denver has its own Meow Wolf.

We have several craft breweries and distilleries of note. One of my favorites is Stranahan's. The tour includes a very cool shot glass you'll use to taste whiskey, and the people I've taken there that didn't like whiskey left liking whiskey. The guides are usually very entertaining and educational. I also really liked the tour at New Belgium, and I've heard that the tour at Coor's is worth it.

Going a bit further out, you can pick apples at YaYa Orchards in Longmont and have some incredibly delicious apple cider donuts. You can have a relaxing day shopping and dining at Pearl Street outdoor Mall in Boulder. If you're heading to Estes stop by the Colorado Cherry Company on the edge of Lyons for some local cuisine and jams, jellies, ciders, pies, coffee, chocolate and honey.
